Check Out This Color Trick for Midjourney

Hey everyone! I've been hard at work on my Midjourney Advanced Course and I want to share one of the tricks I've found.

Have you ever heard of the term 'ombre'?

It's a french word defined as - "the blending of one color hue to another, usually moving tints and shades from light to dark"

And sure enough, Midjourney can understand and implement this idea!

Let me show you some examples

If you were to prompt for a bird made of specific colors - 'a bird with wings, blue and gold' - you might receive a generation like the one above. Where blue and gold intertwine with one another in a random (albeit beautiful) way.

However, if you were to prompt for - a bird with ombre-colored wings, blue and gold - you can generation something like this!

Now how cool is that??

Using 'ombre' in your prompt will layer and 'blend' your chosen colors together in a satisfying sequence.

This next example might be even more clear - a prom dress, green and pink --ar 4:5

Midjourney did it's best with that description - it created a 'stylish' prom dress that incorporated both colors I asked for - but the results are kind of ... not pretty ...

Now let's insert 'ombre' into the prompt - an ombre-colored prom dress, green and pink --ar 4:5

Isn't that amazing!? I think that is much more reminiscent of what someone might hope for, but not know how to phrase it properly.

The same grid also produced this ->

The colors are inverted but the blend remains.

I hope you find the concept of 'ombre' as fascinating as I do!

Thanks for being cool, and don't forget to check out my Midjourney Beginner Course below!

Mood Boards Midjourney finally released their advanced personalization system, and now we can create specific mood boards to direct the style of our generations! I created a video all about it & you can get caught up here ^ I think the best part of this update is how easily we can create these styles and share the codes with each other, so if you and I have similar preferences, you can use '--profile aisq5g2' in your prompt for the 'unsplash' vibe a woman, chic fashionista --chaos 3 --ar 16:9...

Describe The Font Generating text with Midjourney is not easy, but there are some nuanced strategies that can help you improve your output! Like take a look at this grid as an example, a dark shadow man that says "too late for tea" - just asking for simple text will make the words appear small and insignificant. a dark shadow man that says "too late for tea" --ar 16:9 --seed 853058 --personalize h9zrlwt --niji 6 But I have a hunch that most people would expect the text to be incorporated into...

Set The Tone I have an ultra-powerful word for you to try in Midjourney if you're looking for lavish and extravagant scenes You gotta try 'opulent' in your prompt! an opulent kitchen Do you see how simple and effective it can be? It also works great for subjects when you include the word 'unsplash' a woman in an opulent outfit, unsplash --ar 9:16 --personalize yujiu53 --v 6.1 And it can be amazing when you try it with a character reference (but be warned, some images might generate as NSFW) a...
