Check Out This Color Trick for Midjourney

Hey everyone! I've been hard at work on my Midjourney Advanced Course and I want to share one of the tricks I've found.

Have you ever heard of the term 'ombre'?

It's a french word defined as - "the blending of one color hue to another, usually moving tints and shades from light to dark"

And sure enough, Midjourney can understand and implement this idea!

Let me show you some examples

If you were to prompt for a bird made of specific colors - 'a bird with wings, blue and gold' - you might receive a generation like the one above. Where blue and gold intertwine with one another in a random (albeit beautiful) way.

However, if you were to prompt for - a bird with ombre-colored wings, blue and gold - you can generation something like this!

Now how cool is that??

Using 'ombre' in your prompt will layer and 'blend' your chosen colors together in a satisfying sequence.

This next example might be even more clear - a prom dress, green and pink --ar 4:5

Midjourney did it's best with that description - it created a 'stylish' prom dress that incorporated both colors I asked for - but the results are kind of ... not pretty ...

Now let's insert 'ombre' into the prompt - an ombre-colored prom dress, green and pink --ar 4:5

Isn't that amazing!? I think that is much more reminiscent of what someone might hope for, but not know how to phrase it properly.

The same grid also produced this ->

The colors are inverted but the blend remains.

I hope you find the concept of 'ombre' as fascinating as I do!

Thanks for being cool, and don't forget to check out my Midjourney Beginner Course below!
